A Goal For 2019

To the members of the Redlands Church Family and including our broader community, I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ.  On behalf of our family, I want to wish you a happy and blessed year of 2019.

Just a quick reflection -- and from my vantage point there really isn’t any need to be surprised or frustrated. I am speaking about still wanting to celebrate afresh “that Christ the Savior is born.”  I am already receiving e-mails and flyers from publishers and advertisers telling me about their offers for Lent and Easter and how I can get a good deal if I order soon.

It’s just true that time waits for no one.  Even in our faith, Christ proclaimed “But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36).  So, yes, there is something to be said for planning and preparation.

What if we were determined to be filled with God’s love, and then this focus would remind us to read the Bible and pray?  We may feel uncomfortable because we are being called to give of ourselves in fulfilling a responsibility that God may have for us. This is not easy, but then we understand that Jesus was born in a manger and buried in a borrowed tomb. When we have been filled with the love of God as our goal for 2019 and beyond, we may be pleasantly surprised to see how many other things in our lives will fall into place!

God Bless, Pastor Aaron

Bible Study – The Gospel of Mark

Please join Pastor Aaron on Wednesday evenings at 6pm.   We are finishing our Advent study and on approximately Feb. 13 will begin the Gospel of Mark --at a time when the faith of people was being tested.

Mark has Jesus to come quickly and encourage the people not to give up. Truly, Jesus is the way -- through His miracles and teachings that can speak to us today. There is time for fellowship, prayer, and a rich discussion. Bring your Bibles; we will have an outline for you.  See you there!
